What schools and parents ask first.
How are schools billed?
Per-school annual licence. We send a quote scoped to your student count, AI usage tier, and any add-ons (custom DPA, custom data residency). Multi-year contracts unlock a volume discount.
What if we go over the AI fair-use cap?
We don't switch you off. We notify the school admin, surface usage in the admin dashboard, and either auto-extend on a token-bundle (Stripe-handled) or arrange a mid-year true-up — whichever the school prefers.
Can a parent and a school both have us as customers?
Yes, but it's redundant. If your child's school is on CurioPilot, the parent account comes free with the school's plan — see the “Through your school” card. We won't double-charge.
Is there a discount for non-profits or low-income schools?
Yes. Title I schools, registered non-profit schools, and schools in qualifying low-income districts get a 30% standing discount. Mention it on the quote request and we'll apply it automatically.
When does Premium Family bill?
After the 14-day free trial unless you cancel. Annual is billed once; monthly is billed every 30 days. No prorations on partial months — cancel any time and your account stays active until the end of the billing period.
Can we negotiate the DPA?
Districts on the Campus plan can use their own DPA template — link it in the quote request and we'll redline it. Schools on the Standard plan use our DPA (GDPR Article 28-compliant; UK / CCPA / state-specific addenda available).
Do you do procurement paperwork (HECVAT, SIG, vendor questionnaires)?
Yes. Standard turnaround: 5 business days for HECVAT, SIG-Lite, CAIQ. Custom questionnaires are quoted separately. See `/compliance` for the canonical posture.
